Q: Could you tell us a little about yourself and how you came to know Marshall McLuhan? A: My name is Tom Cooper. I’m now a professor at Emerson College in Boston, but I knew McLuhan during my graduate years when I was one of his graduate students and became an assistant. He had several people around him working on projects. And I recall at the University of Toronto being a part of that very exploratory group of individuals. It was like an intellectual think tank, an intellectual talk show where people gathered on a Monday or Wednesday night, you could hear anyone from Bucky Fuller to an advertising campaign manager
